Hello all! As I have been going through this journey called life, I am continually seeking to do so better. Don’t we all? I want to dispel the myths that as we age we will get shorter, fatter, on more and more medications and not as mobile as we were when we were younger. While there are some exceptions, for the majority of things that will kill ourselves and our loved ones, “Our genes are not our destiny”. I want to stay as Vibrant, Active and as Drug free as possible through the remainder of my life to fully enjoy all the richness that it has. I believe that this is made best possible through a Whole Food Plant based diet. Continue reading “The EZ Vegan”
Top Security and Identity Resources
aka.ms/Secure – now isn’t that easy?
Let me preface this first. One, I work for Microsoft, so I am only including links on this post primarily from our ‘Docs’ pages, with the exception of some government related posts. Not that there’s anything wrong with any other posts or links. But these are some of the ones I find most useful to share with my fellow colleagues and customers. Secondly, there is so much that is out there, even within our own docs, there may be many many more I’ll post further below. And many more that I miss or forget. These are some of my favorite pages that I often use for referencing Microsoft’s current recommended Security and Identity practices in no particular order. I hope you find these useful as well and share away with aka.ms/Secure. Continue reading “Top Security and Identity Resources”
Azure Stack Assessment
aka “best practices” if you’d like to call it that
Hello everyone. Often I walk into Azure Stack environments where they have “been there, done that”. That is, the customer has gone beyond the core installation and configuration from original equipment manufacturers (OEM), such as by DellEMC, Lenovo or HPE. All of the steps up to this point are well documented on this Overall Timeline for an Azure Stack Datacenter integration.
Once the OEM has left, the customer may have installed some resource providers (RP), done Azure Stack registration, which enables marketplace syndication and created things like offers, plans & quotas.
Therefore, the customer turns to me and says “Did we do this right”? Or “are we following “best practices”? And I can’t resist the standard consultant’s response “it depends”. Nonetheless, in this post what I want to start collecting and collating are things to take a look at as an Azure Stack Operator in your shiny new object known as an Azure Stack Integrated System.

In my recent post for Azure Stack Operator Exam Operator link (aka.ms/70-537), I created hyperlinks that map to all of the exam objectives. If you actually walked through each and every link you would eventually come to instructions that tell you “how to” do that thing. The documentation team has done a pretty good job of providing step-by-step instructions to do virtually anything in Azure Stack. Also, if you just want to watch, just found a whole series of “How To” videos on YouTube!
Azure Stack Operator Exam Links
Hi All. In helping others prepare to take and pass the Exam 70-537 “Configuring and Operating a Hybrid Cloud with Microsoft Azure Stack” , I have taken the outline for the exam and created hyperlinks to all of the sub-topics to help you study and prepare faster. I hope this is useful for you and others. Good health to you 😉

The Azure Stack Docs page pretty much has most everything you need located at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure-stack/. Also you want to check out Azure Stack: Building an end-to-end validation environment. But sometimes there are other blogs or posts that you can find other good nuggets of information. One such list of blogs is the Azure Stack IaaS Series. There is a lot of great information in these, but I can never find them listed in one place when I want them. So I am listing them in order and by title for Continue reading “aka.ms/AzureStackLinks”
The Journey Begins
Thanks for joining me! As the MSDN blogs are finishing their sunset, I needed a new home. I am a blogger at Microsoft. Anything that I post in this blog typically just redirects to other Microsoft links. I use this as my online bookmarks to then share with others to expedite their discovery of content. If there is anything other than links or redirects, these are my opinions, unless stated “Recommended by Microsoft”, in which case I will redirect to the official guidance. Help yourself
Customers always ask me for help finding information in Azure. Sometimes I have the answers. Sometimes I have to go seek and find. I wanted to share the 4 places you can look too that I just documented for one of my customers. I hope this is useful to you as well.
Questions may often come up about what Microsoft is working on and what is on the Roadmap. There are a few places where this information can be discovered by any Continue reading “Help yourself”
